Brief History
The Miniature Pinscher is a German dog which was originally bred several hundred years ago to kill rats and other small vermin in homes and factories. This breed is commonly mistaken for a miniature version of the Doberman, but despite their startling resemblance the Min Pin actually pre-dates the Doberman by quite some time. The breed's popularity skyrocketed after World War I when German and Scandinavian breeders increased their efforts to develop the Min Pin and the breed was brought to the USA.

Dog Breed Characteristics

A. Protection Ability
The Miniature Pinscher has a sharp hearing and a loud bark that they will use to warn their owners of suspicious happenings. They are regarded as exceptional watch dogs.

B. Ease of Training
Without dog training, the Min Pin will rule the household. This breed thinks that they are the leader of all they survey, and even experienced owners may need the help of a professional trainer to tame this breed.

C. Playfulness
The Min Pin is very loving and enjoys entertaining his owners by playing the clown. With boundless energy and a deep need for attention, this breed's playfulness can often be overwhelming.

D. Exercise needs
This breed has heaps of energy and is always in the mood for exercise. They enjoy long walks and energetic playtime.

E. Adaptability

Whilst they hate being alone, this breed is relatively easy to care for and will be happy living in a variety of settings. They are somewhat sensitive to the cold, but this can easily be dealt with by wrapping up warm.
